Dr. Melissa Cinquegrani is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Dr. Cinquegrani earned both her Doctorate of Psychology and Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University.  She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Pre-Medicine, and Biology from Augustana College.

Dr. Cinquegrani enjoys helping children, adolescents, and adults find success within their lives. She utilizes an integrative, Cognitive-Behavioral approach to help patients gain emotional and behavioral management skills. In addition, she has experience working in inpatient settings, private schools, therapeutic day schools, and outpatient settings. Dr. Cinquegrani has worked with patients from a wide range of diverse backgrounds and those displaying significant emotional and behavioral difficulties. She works with patients who are under significant pressure and have to make challenging life decisions. Dr. Cinquegrani develops treatment plans targeted to emotional management and crisis intervention, along with plans to increase social skills with developmental, mood, behavioral, and personality disorders.

Helping individuals navigate through stress, life transitions, and negative emotions is one of Dr. Cinquegrani passions. She has extensive training in the treatment of postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, infertility, and general women’s health. Dr. Cinquegrani works with both women and men who are struggling through difficult life events: infertility, pregnancy, the first year postpartum, and parenthood. She has received additional training from Postpartum Support International organization for the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

Dr. Cinquegrani strongly believes in an integrated health care model that focuses on treating an individual holistically, as many physiological, psychological, and social factors are intertwined with one another. Her research and clinical background on the biopsychosocial model and integrated health care have allowed her to gain knowledge on how to effectively utilize a multidisciplinary team approach to provide the best treatment for each patient. Dr. Cinquegrani has created two manuals on how to utilize an integrated health care model, both within a health care setting and an educational setting.

Dr. Cinquegrani also has extensive clinical experience with working alongside special education staff to help support children and adolescents, along with their families, achieve academic, social, and emotional goals within the school setting.

​

Dr. Cinquegrani has a strong background in conducting emotional, behavioral, and intellectual psychological testing for all ages throughout the lifespan. In addition, Dr. Cinquegrani conducts psychological evaluations for medical clearance (infertility, spinal surgery, and bariatric surgery). 

​

Her clinical training and professional experiences have prepared her to help patients reach their goals and reduce symptom severity due to her strong emphasis on case conceptualization, therapeutic techniques, and consultations with a wide variety of health care professionals.
